GET THE LOOK REVIVAL

If you are not aware of Genius series on National Geographic Channel then I would want to know which planet you live in? I have been hooked onto the show until the finale. What an overwhelming show! It had all the ingredients which I love Period drama, True story, Costume drama, Cultural, Political, Science and all the aspects which contributed Einstein being Albert Einstein from 1886 to 1955.

Today, I am not talking anything about him or physics. As the blog title suggests I am going to talk about a look from the show which can be adapted to the modern day. Look of Albert Einstein’s first wife Mileva Maric. Many wouldn’t know her contribution to Physics in many of Einstein’s Journals. To know more about her, please do watch the show on National Geographic Channel. Click Here for the trailer.

I gathered few information on the era and what exactly was the fashion back then from Business standard by IANS article where in a Chicago based journalist Mayank Chhaya interviewed Sonu Mishra Costume designer for the series Genius. Click here for the article link.

In the above article Mishra said she discovered that students in the Europe of the late 19th and early 20th centuries were known to dress up formally and in a classic style. So keeping this in mind, I did a get the look with what I already had in my wardrobe. Before that let us see what Mileva Maric looked like in these pictures below.

Also let’s see how Sonu Mishra styled actress Samantha Colley who played Mileva Maric in the series.

Let us break down the clothing and accessories used on her.

Here is the final look what I have come up with.

A white high neck shirt, a midi length Neutral brown Jute skirt and a black belt, I also wore a stocking for a modest look, I teamed this whole look with a Brogues and Oxford style shoes and an hair updo similar to that one Mileva wore in the series.

This look is great to wear it to the office. You can ditch those pencil skirts/ trousers and heels to this and get transported to a era which is so formal and classic in their dressing.
